Drops, mixed into your moisturiser and applied by hand, give you control over depth. A mist puts the tan on without touching your face, in a thin, even layer. Drops cost less to start; a mist removes the blending, which is where most face tan goes wrong.
Drops vs mist at a glance
| Tan drops | Mist (MultiMist) | |
|---|---|---|
| How it goes on | Mixed into moisturiser, applied by hand | Misted onto the face, no hands on skin |
| Depth | Set by how many drops you add | Set by how long you mist (10 to 50 seconds) |
| Evenness | Depends on mixing and blending | Same seconds, same amount. Nothing to blend |
| Hairline and brows | Easy to overload, needs wiping | A thin layer, less to collect |
| Hands | Colour on palms unless you wash | No contact |
| Skincare | Tan only | Swap the capsule for serum or essence |
How tan drops work
You add a few drops of tan to your moisturiser, mix it in your palm and apply it like a normal cream. More drops give a deeper colour.
The result depends on the mixing. Unevenly mixed product goes on in patches, and the colour collects where your fingers blend: the hairline, the brows and the sides of the nose. Wash your hands straight after, or your palms tan too.
How a face mist works
A mist turns the tan into fine droplets that land evenly on the skin. Nothing touches your face, so there is nothing to blend into the hairline or jaw.
With the MultiMist, you click a True Tan capsule into the device, hold the device about 30 cm from your face and mist for 10 to 50 seconds. The longer you mist, the deeper the colour. Close your eyes and mouth while you mist. A True Tan capsule gives up to 5 tans, and you can swap it for Supreme Serum, Multi Essence or Uniform-C Serum and use the same device for skincare.
Which one suits you
Drops suit you if you already like your moisturiser and don't mind blending by hand.
A mist suits you if you tan your face often, struggle with streaks at the hairline or brows, or want one device for both tan and skincare.

A tan you never touch
Click in a capsule, mist for a few seconds, done. Swap the capsule and the same device does your skincare.
FAQ
Are tan drops or a mist better for the face?
Both work. Drops give you control over depth. A mist like the MultiMist gives a more even layer because nothing is blended by hand, and you set the depth by how long you mist.
Can I mix tan drops into any moisturiser?
Most brands recommend a light, water-based moisturiser. With the MultiMist there is no mixing: True Tan goes on straight from the capsule.
Is a face mist the same as a spray tan?
No. A salon spray tan covers the whole body in a booth. The MultiMist is a small device made for the face, for tan and skincare at home.
What else can the MultiMist do?
Swap the capsule. Supreme Serum, Multi Essence and Uniform-C Serum turn the same device into your skincare routine.
What if my MultiMist stops working?
Like any device, the MultiMist needs a little care: clean it once a week and whenever you switch from True Tan to another capsule, with a couple of Cleaning Drops (see how to use the MultiMist). If it still doesn't work, contact our customer support and we'll help you troubleshoot. Every MultiMist comes with a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
